Education is. . .
awaking from a
post-supper nap
on a snowy
TGIFriday
to find
Joseph Campbell
at the foot of one's bed
TV-lecturing on
Life and its
wondrous
mysteries.

Fate's revenge is. . .
watching my slim,
leggy wife
happily wearing
20-year-old
hippy-jeans
that I
ballooned
out of
long ago,
as she chides:
"How'd you
ever get that
big, white heiny
into these
slim-jim jeans?"

Bliss is. . .
seeing
one's spouse
wide-eyed
and bubbly
as she drags me
by the hand
to our
upstairs window
insisting
that I behold,
 with her,
winter's
first snowfall.
Night snow so bright
on the dark trees
surrounding
our home that
2 Asian and 2 Irish
eyes widen as
eyebrows and
lips arch to form
a universal mantra:
Oooaaahhh!
