I am an ancient warrior,
I've been through
Shot and shell.
I have no fear of dying,
I’ve spent my time
In hell.
On battle fields,
Now far away,
I've trod the
Bloody ground.
I've marked the place
Where comrades fell,
In my heart
T'will always dwell.
When bugles sound
Over hallowed ground
And I am laid to rest,
Let it be said
I did my best
To keep our country
Sound.
