Jan. 1942~Sept. 1945
Have you forgot
What you were taught
While in the Corps?
Are you neat and
Squared away
When going out the door?
Do you daily change your sox,
Your underwear as well?
Or do you wait for your wife
To raise a little hell?
Do you walk with pride
With your head held high
Like you know that you are
The very best?
They taught you in the Corps
That you are evermore
A United States Marine.
Because you left the duty
That ain’t no excuse
To forget that you still
Are a Marine.
You may not wear the khaki,
The blues or the greens
But underneath those civvies
You are still Marines.
Semper Fi!
