I wish that I could meet you all
at some time and place
to see you as you really are,
to look into your face.

We are all but strangers
to each and the other,
if I could but meet you
I would soon discover
that you are a gutsy crew.
Like the good Marines you are,
that alone would take you
beyond the farthest star.

So stay with me in spirit
and stay with me in mind
and when we climb those
golden stairs
and guard those
 golden streets,
we’ll do it all together
and that’s where we will meet.
Semper Fi!
