I can’t believe
the time has passed
since last we said
the merry’s.
'Twas only yesterday
it seems when
kids were voicing
all their dreams
and sugar plums
were dancing o’er
their heads.

I wonder if their
 dreams came true
like most often
they all do or
were they left
a-wanting?

We see about us every year
poor little young’uns
all held dear
by parents
without means with
little in their old jeans
to make kids happy.

Life goes on
so I am told,
life is warm
or life is cold
and we can’t fix
 all problems that arise.

As Marines
we do our best
with Toys for Tots
and all the rest
and we have had
some success
in doing what
we set out to do.

So all of you can
take some pride
in knowing that
all we’ve tried
has brought some
happiness to
those who
have less than me
and less than you.
Oooorah!
