How long have we been Marines?
How many battles have we seen?
How many hours have we stood guard
over there or in our yard?
How many MREs have we ate?
How many times have we said "I hate"?
How many times have we tested fate?
How close have we come to heaven's gate?

How many shores have we charged?
How many times have we said "Oh, Lord!"?
How many bullets have we fired?
How many times have we been inspired?
How many foxholes have we dug?
How many times have we had a "bug"?
If they asked for you once again,
how long would it take you
to sign in?
