The months ahead
 will likely be
provoking for
politics is not
my cup of tea.
I hear a lot of “I’m a'gonna!”
that don’t mean too much
to me.

Now, I got my ideas of what
makes up a country and
Lord knows there is room
for much change.
You'd need a magic wand
to fix what is wrong
and I’m not sure that
it would do the trick.

It would take at least a couple pages
to outline the changes to be made.
Starting from the ground,
we could go around
asking people of all ages
to submit to the stages
of the necessary engagement
to it all.

Now, as you may guess,
I have things, I must confess,
I would add to the mess
hoping that it would fix
the problems that
confront us all.

First of all I’d recall
the tax program
that cheats us all and
make it even throughout
the USA.
One tax that fills the need,
one that does not exceed
the necessary needs of state.
I'd regulate the spending,
kill pork barrels unending
and hang all the lobbyists
in the land.

I am sure there are ways
to cut cost in many ways
that have to do with
 Medicare and such.
When they took away
the barter from
the buying order
they let greed take over
and the little folks
suffered most.

Have you ever thought
what we could do
for people like me and you
with the money we've spent
upon the war?

If I may offer a suggestion
for whatever it is worth,
let’s declare a policy
of  isolation
long enough to fix the nation
that is this land of ours.

Well, I’ve got a page full
and I guess I should stop
but I ain’t near the finish line,
so add yours to the mix
and together we will fix
this screwed up land of ours.
