Poetry ain't for every one,
Either readin or a writin'.
As all of you know
Who read my stuff
It ain't always delightin'.
Now Mr. Duffy, who mentors me,
Sez I'm doin' fine,
That I should keep on workin'
'Til I run out of time.
He ask did I know
How many I have wrote.
I said "I think there is enuf
To sink a big boat!"
Well now that may be true,
I've done a line or two
But quality and quantity
Don't wear each others' shoes.
Now, you may not know it,
Since I first put
Word to rhyme,
There are more than 200
And many hundreds of lines.
I hope in all I've given,
Given to you all,
Some wisdom
And some humor,
Things your will recall.
As thru your daily lives you go
Being fine examples
To us one and all.
