Have you ever looked back
to where you’ve been and
never will get back again?
To people you once did know
but do not miss them so,
of things you’ve said
that weren’t nice
and wish you would have
thought twice?

We all are subject
to the fact that
we sometimes
do not act like
a person should.
We surely cannot
love them all,
the goodness in
them to recall.
We are not God,
not God at all!

I hope I'm forgiven
for the kind of life I’m livin’.
Mostly I was pretty good,
doin’ things the way I should,
not harming or harassin’
anyone whom
I was passin’
as I made my way
through this pale
that we call life.
