 Twas two weeks before Xmas
and all thru the house,
not a creature was stirring
not even a louse.

I in my undies
settled down in my bed
with visions of shopping,
a thing I just dread.

Things are so high
you need a million
for present to buy.
I look at some undies
all fancy and red,
if she’d wear them
I’d drop dead.

For mom and pop,
something practical
I suppose.
For mom an apron
for pop a nice tie,
I guess that’ll get by.

For the kids
there are toys
all over the store
I’ll have to explore.

My feet are all weary,
exhausted and sore,
shopping for Xmas
is over once more.
Hallelujah!
