I suppose I am
the common man,
I like the common folk,
the man who rises
with the dawn
and goes off
to work.

The man who
believes in God
and in his
country’s worth,
who loves his kids
and his wife and
puts them first.

A man who joined the ranks
and fought a bloody war,
who’s respectful
of tradition and
carries on afore.

To those I have allegiance,
to those I do admire
for they are the
foundation of
what the world
requires.
